I have nothing but fond memories of Van Nistelrooy’s tenure in Madrid. I wasn’t his biggest fan when he was with Manu, but he proved me wrong big time. In an era where Raul was severely underperforming, Ronaldo (The original – the Lima) carried our team with his goals game-in and game-out. When RVN came over to replace Ronaldo when he left for AC, he filled those massive boots that Ronaldo left for him with confidence and class. I will never forget his time here and his fabulous goals. One of the best strikers I have ever seen in my generation, a true poacher and a classic #9 striker.
