Rudy Fernandez can throw it down

Rudy Fernandez can throw it down

I’m pumped for this weekend.. Obviously. But I am really looking forward to seeing Rudy Fernandez in the dunk off on Saturday night. He’s slowly developing into one of my favorite players in the NBA. I’ve grown a soft spot for the Blazers this year. The youth, the energy, the crowd, the passion; just fantastic stuff to watch. I would kill to have a guy like Fernandez in the Raptors line-up.

So in case you haven’t heard, it’s my duty to tell you that Rudy Gay has pulled out of the dunk competition due to injury, and been replaced by J.R. Smith. Not really a change that’s going to alter the dunk-off that much. I don’t think anyone can top Dwight Howard in terms of athletic ability to pull off an insane dunk. Actually no one can really top what Vince and Jason Richardson have done, so I think now a days, you will see players winning it with a combination of dunk difficulty and creativity. So I am hoping that Fernandez (the wise Spaniard that he is), will have a few tricks up his sleeve. I actually have the inside scoop on one of the dunks that he will atempt. It’s called the ‘Djalminha’, and you’ll know it when you see it.

And as I am writing this, I just read that Chris Bosh will not play in the All-Star game due to injury, and will be replaced by Mo Williams. Good for Mo, I say he’s definitely next in line and deserves it.

Although Kapono will probably take the cake; watch out for Bibby. He’s my hidden treasure in the 3 point shootout. And I’m also looking forward to the game of H-O-R-S-E between Mayo, Durant, and Joe Johnson.

Oh.. And this is on Valentines Day… Guys, sort it out.
